Teen Leadership Board

Open to teens in grades 8 – 12

The Friendship Circle Inclusive Teen Leadership Board (TLB) currently has members with and without disabilities from varying high schools throughout the community including: Collegiate, Deep Run High School, Hermitage High School, Glen Allen High School, Miller School of Albemarle, Moody Middle School, New Community School, Patrick Henry High School, and Shaarei Torah of Richmond.

Applicants must complete and submit the following application NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 7, 2022.

Friendship Circle’s Teen Leadership Board was created to connect teens with the disability community. As a participant, you will develop leadership and interpersonal skills, build self-esteem, join leadership roles as advocates, and form life long friendships.

Expectations

Teen Board Members meet on a monthly basis. The meetings are held on Zoom, and in person quarterly. Members are expected to attend five (5) meetings (hybrid, in-person, and zoom), Four (4) FCVA events, and two (2) TLB events (1 in winter, 1 in spring).

Projects

This year, the Teen Leadership Board will have two projects: Program & Events, and Community Engagement. The overall goal of these projects is to increase community involvement in Friendship Circle as well as strengthen the organizational and leadership skills of the teen board.
