Science Museum of Virginia – Minds of All Kinds

July 27 @ 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us for a sensory-friendly evening developed for guests with disabilities.

Enjoy a less crowded environment as you get hands-on with activities designed to pique curiosity and inspire discovery. The event features accommodations for guest sensitivities to lights and sounds.
  • Journey through the touring exhibition Discover Steampunk one last time, to see how thinkers of the late 1800s envisioned the future.
  • Navigate through our Speed and Boost exhibitions at your own pace.
  • Step outside and explore the trains and Aluminaut, a submarine made out of aluminium.
  • Meet snakes, spiders and more in the Animal Lab.
  • See what’s buzzing in the Eco Lab. Can you spot the queen in our observational bee hive?
  • Need a creative outlet? Step into the Art Lab for hands-on activities mixing art and science.
  • Experience a giant screen film in The Dome.
  • And so much more!
Minds of All Kinds admission is free. Registration will be required. Please check back soon! Thanks to our partners at Virginia Voice, SOAR365, Autism Society of Central Virginia, Friendship Circle of Virginia, Down Syndrome Association of Greater Richmond and the Virginia Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired for collaborating on this event.
