Typically developing brothers and sisters are generally very supportive of their siblings with disabilities. However, they rarely find the opportunity to share their feelings, challenges, and concerns with others who understand them, and can often benefit from their very own weekly friend.
Sib Circle was launched by FCVA to support the siblings that are part of the FCVA family. We currently provide Friends@Home visits with siblings if requested and hope to grow Sibling Circle to provide a safe space in which siblings can discuss their experiences, receive support, and have a special day that is all their own.
In addition to being a cathartic experience, Sib Circle allows children with similar experiences to form friendships that extend outside of Friendship Circle programming.
