DESCRIPTION:Since 2005\, Sportable has been making sports accessible and inclusive for athletes with physical disabilities and visual impairments. This November\, we’re celebrating 20 years of adaptive impact by bringing our community together for Sportaball: 20 Years of Adaptive Impact. Held at the Science Museum of Virginia’s Dewey Gottwald Center\, this semi-formal\, interactive evening will feature adaptive sport highlights\, athlete stories\, music\, and a high-energy raffle — all in support of Sportable’s mission to create opportunities and transform lives. Together\, we’ll honor two decades of progress while fueling the future of adaptive sports in Central Virginia. So don your cocktail attire and favorite sneakers\, and get ready for a sneaker ball celebration that keeps everyone moving.

DESCRIPTION:Friendships help children feel connected and valued\, but making friends can be hard for students with disabilities and for peers who may feel unsure how to reach out. This workshop will explore the challenges and importance of building positive peer relationships. Participants will learn practical strategies parents and educators can use to create opportunities for belonging\, acceptance\, and genuine friendships for all children.
